| **Status:** The referendum period runs until July 8, 2021. It seems unlikely that a referendum will be filed against it. The Federal Council will then set the date of entry into force. Before that, it will have to amend the ordinances. After that, an exciting phase lasting several years will begin in which these new possibilities will be explored and evaluated. However, as long as the health insurance companies do not pay for such cannabis medicines (this will be discussed further in the coming years), only a few sick people will be able to afford these preparations. | The facilitations for medical hemp have finally come into force and a new era has begun.
