Spring 2011: fixed penalties

Finally, the SGK-NR (Committee for Social Security and Health of the National Council) was able to agree on the key points for a possible nationwide fixed penalty model regarding cannabis use:

• Height of fixed penalty: 100 francs.
• Age limit for fixed penalties: 16 years.
• Small amount: 10 grams of hemp.

Now the matter can be dealt with in the National Council - where it will become clear whether the minorities who advocate 200 francs fixed penalty or want to grant the police discretionary powers will be heard more than in the commission.
