My 30th year as secretary of our association has now actually begun. So it will soon be three decades in which I have also been professionally involved with the topic of hemp in Switzerland (during the first five years of our existence we had no paid positions).

Somehow it has been an extremely long time and somehow it has also flown by. I have seen and helped shape new beginnings. I observed and documented repression in all its power. I was able to achieve some things, others were simply not possible.

It was a varied and instructive time. I am very grateful that I was able to pursue my questions, vent my anger at prohibition in my writing, help people who were oppressed by repression and make a living from this work. That is a great gift!

I still have just under ten years to go before I retire. Another political cycle of several years (parliament, referendum campaign) is likely to follow. It would be very nice if this could bring down the repression, at least for the most part.

That would be a happy ending!
