Dear member

So now the time has really come. My 30th year as secretary of our association is coming to an end. I took up this position in January 1996, and now it has been 360 months.

I would never have thought that when I started. I was 26 years young then – who can see the next 30 years? Back then, farmers had just started growing hemp “not for narcotics”: The era of hemp-scented sachets.

A federal commission of experts spoke out in favor of a more liberal approach to drugs. When I click through the articles from that time in the archive, I have to say: the same arguments over and over again, sometimes with different actors.

Even though a lot has happened - fixed penalties for supervised consumption, definition of the amount of cannabis exempt from punishment at ten grams, possibility for pilot projects and medical hemp prescriptions - hemp is still not legal.

Now I am 56 years old and another political Another political cycle has begun: the consultation responses to the draft Cannabis Products Act are now being evaluated. Parliamentary deliberations will then start in about a year's time. I will do all I can to help finally put an end to the ban.

Hemp greetings from the secretary
