What is the status of the legalization of hemp in Switzerland in 2021? Here you will find an overview of the political events concerning cannabis.

The purpose of this bill is to provide a legal basis for the conduct of pilot scientific trials of cannabis, limited in location, time and scope, in order to gain knowledge about the effects of the regulated use of cannabis for non-medical purposes.

The proposed amendment to the Narcotics Act provides that cannabis medicines may in future be prescribed without an exceptional authorisation from the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH).

The parliamentary initiative by Heinz Siegenthaler would like to prohibit the cultivation, production, trade and consumption of cannabis containing THC in accordance with the recommendations of the Federal Commission for Narcotics Issues (EKSF) new legal regulations. ¹⁾

From 2016 to 2018, we did some preparatory work for a new popular initiative. Since 2019, the newly founded association Cannabis Consensus Switzerland is responsible for this.
